Watercolor, Original Size-10" X 15"

One day in October, while walking in the woods, I was 
suddenly aware of funny looking, yellow, tassel-like growths
on the limbs of some tall, "shrubby trees" along the
path. They turned out to be the flowers of the Witch Hazel.
I believe it is the only autumn-blooming shrub in Michigan.
